"Toast of the Nation"

The New Year 2005 was welcomed in with a groundbreaking digital broadcast event. Partnering with Harris Corporation’s Broadcast Communications Division, Neural assisted National Public Radio (NPR) as the award-winning programming giant broadcast a live blues and jazz event, Toast of the Nation, that rang in the New Year from Paris to New York to Washington, D.C. to Denver to Oakland, Calif. in crystal clear 5.1 digital audio surround sound. The broadcast was another first for Neural --the first live national 5.1 surround sound digital broadcast.

It was comin’ in hot and live from the Ground Zero Blues Club in Clarksdale, Mississippi as the Jamees Mathus Knockdown Sound band kicked the New Year in with a bang for the NPR Toast of the Nation. Hosts Bonnie Grice, WLIU/Southampton, N.Y., and Gary Walker from producing partner WBGO/Newark, N.J., anchored the13-hour New Year’s Eve broadcast from NPR's state-of-the-art Studio 4A, specially outfitted for surround-sound broadcast with Neural Audio equipment.
The Latin Giants of Jazz with Special Guest Eddie Palmieri were laying down some sweet sounds at the TOTN/KUVO-FM venue in Denver.
