NEURAL AUDIO RELEASE
GEORGIA PUBLIC BROADCASTING RADIO PURCHASES NEUSTAR SW4.0 CODEC PRE-CONDITINING SOLUTION FOR ITS RADIO STATION NETWORK Software Solution to Allow Multicast Programming for On-Air and Internet Services KIRKLAND, Wash., March 18, 2008 - Neural Audio Corporation, the market leader in developing advanced audio and surround sound technologies, announced today that Georgia Public Broadcasting Radio (GPB Radio) has purchased the NeuStar™ SW4.0 Codec Pre-Conditioning software package for its statewide, sixteen station public radio network. The software will allow GPB Radio to broadcast an increased number of services and channels to its audience on its FM stations. "For public radio stations and networks, HD Radio (IBOC) allows us to provide even more services to our loyal listeners," said Mark G. Fehlig, P.E., Georgia Public Broadcasting director of engineering. "With NeuStar SW4.0, we are able to conveniently multicast and offer our audience a broader choice of listening options." For broadcasters looking at multicasting options, NeuStar SW4.0 Codec Pre-Conditioning allows broadcasters to simultaneously process their HD2, HD3 and HD4 channels or multiple Internet streams without the need for additional hardware. The NeuStar SW4.0 software can be positioned ahead of Internet streams, DAB, DRM, satellite, compressed STL, ISDN, mobile and satellite uplinks, and other audio services in the transmission chain for codec improvements and audio processing. “We are extremely pleased that GPB Radio has chosen our NeuStar SW4.0 codec pre-conditioning solution for their statewide network,” said Geir R Skaaden, Neural Audio CEO. "Multicasting on HD Radio is definitely an exciting new way to expand the broadcast options available for public broadcasters from reading services and niche music formats like blues or jazz. And with NeuStar’s lower bit rate capabilities, GPB Radio will definitely be able to take advantage of these widening opportunities." Georgia Public Broadcasting's listener-supported public radio network (GPB Radio) has been Georgia's source for music, NPR (National Public Radio), news and local programming favorites as Studio GPB, featuring notable Georgia musicians; Georgia Gazette, a daily radio magazine covering everything from art to politics across the state; and Cover to Cover, a monthly radio book-club program featuring southern authors. GPB Radio operates sixteen FM stations and seven FM translators including: WUGA-FM 91.7; WNGU-FM 89.5; WPPR-FM 88.3; WJSP-FM 88.1; WACG-FM 90.7; WSVH-FM 91.1; WXVS-FM 90.1; WWET-FM 91.7; WUWG-FM 90.7; WUNV-FM 91.7; WABR-FM 91.1; WJWV-FM 90.9; WMUM-FM 89.7; WWIO 88.9; WQMT 98.9 and WGPB-FM 97.7.
